Kolaboro / Tools / Permit QR check
Does the permit's QR code lead to the government, or somewhere else?
Upload a photo or scan of a building permit, title document or property ad. We read the QR code on your device, show you the exact link inside it, and tell you whether that link belongs to the official agency. You decide whether to open it.
Your photo never leaves this device. The QR code is decoded in your browser with jsQR, an open-source reader we host ourselves, and we never visit the link for you. Site analytics are masked on this tool: they never see the image, the code or the link.
What we found
Indonesia's PBG and Dubai's permits can be checked online
Indonesia: PBG and SLF in SIMBG
Building approvals (PBG) and certificates of fitness (SLF) are issued through SIMBG, the government's web system (Government Regulation 16/2021, Article 1 point 48). SIMBG runs a public verification page at simbg.pu.go.id/Main/VerifikasiPBG/ followed by the document's number. It asks for the certificate's unique code (kode unik) and then shows whether the SK PBG is valid. We read this from SIMBG's own web app on 3 Nov 2026. Permit consultants' guides say SK PBG documents carry a QR code that opens an official verification page. We have not seen enough real certificates to confirm that every region prints one, so check the link either way.
Dubai: Madmoun QR on property ads
Since 24 April 2023 every property ad in Dubai must carry a QR code from the Land Department's Madmoun service. Scanning it opens the ad's permit on the DLD website, so you can see whether the ad was approved and whether the unit has been sold or rented (DLD, 18 April 2023). Title deeds can be checked on the DLD website or the Dubai REST app.
How to check a domain yourself
- Find the part just before the first single "/": that is the site.
- Read it from the right. In simbg.pu.go.id.verify-pbg.com the site is verify-pbg.com, not the ministry.
- Indonesian government sites end in .go.id; Dubai Land Department sites end in dubailand.gov.ae.
- Be wary of short links (s.id, bit.ly), plain "http", numbers instead of a name, and pages that ask for passwords or payment.
- When in doubt, type the agency's address yourself and search the permit number there.
Limits
- An official link proves only where the code points. A forger can print a real government link on a fake document, so open it and compare the details (owner, address, building) with your document.
- A permit for the building is not a title to the land, and neither proves the developer can sell to you.
- Our list of official services is short on purpose: we add a service only after checking it.
