Kolaboro / Data policy

How we collect data

What we read, from where, how our software behaves on other websites, and how to ask us to correct or remove something.

What we collect

  • Public information about off-plan property projects: what developers and their sales agents publish on project pages, brochures and listing portals.
  • Public records that confirm or contradict it: official registers, regulators, courts, stock-exchange filings and the press.
  • Satellite images of development areas from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 programme.

We do not read pages behind a login, we do not buy data about people, and we do not collect personal data about private individuals. Company names and public statements of companies are recorded as published.

Who reads the pages

  • The page reader re-reads each tracked developer page to record what changed. It identifies itself as KolaboroResearchAgent/1.0 with a link to this page, follows each site's robots.txt (a page the site asks crawlers not to read is skipped), and reads one page at a time with a pause between pages.
  • The discovery agent finds new projects and sources with the web search and web fetch tools of Anthropic's Claude API. Those tools are operated by Anthropic.
  • Researchers open pages and registers by hand to confirm or contradict a claim. Every fact they record has the address of the page it came from.

What we keep

For each page the reader reads, we keep the extracted claims, the date and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the text. Every day all fingerprints are combined into one seal that is timestamped in Bitcoin, so the record of what a page said cannot be changed later, including by us. You can check a seal at /verify.

What we publish

Projects are anonymous (an id such as BALI-014) until a verification is complete and the developer has had 10 working days to reply. We publish what is public, the verification level of each check and the claims we tested. A high score means information is public, not that it is genuine. The scoring rules are open source and the data is free under CC BY 4.0 through the open API.

Corrections, replies and removal

  • Developers can answer any finding with documents, free, through the right of reply. Replies are shown next to the findings.
  • Every correction we make is listed in the corrections log.
  • To ask for a correction or removal, write to [email protected] with the project id and the reason. We answer within 10 working days.
  • Site owners who do not want our page reader to visit can disallow KolaboroResearchAgent in their robots.txt.
