Watch the land change from space
Satellite composites of the public development areas we watch, one for the same months of every year. Orange marks land that has been cleared since the first period. Step through the years, play the timelapse and see how much ground has opened up.
These are areas, not projects. Each box is a stretch of coast or a district where many developers build. Nothing here names, points to or rates a specific project. The plots of projects we check are watched privately, for the buyer who asked, and are never published on this page.
What a satellite can and cannot show
The images come from the European Sentinel-2 satellites, which photograph the whole planet every few days at 10 m per pixel. For each period our pipeline takes every image of the area, drops the cloudy pixels and keeps the median, so one clear picture stands for the whole window. Each yearly period covers the same months, starting with the first period, so the comparison is like with like and is not fooled by the rains.
It can show
- Land being cleared: fields, scrub or forest turning into bare ground
- New roads, platforms and large roofs appearing
- How fast an area is filling in, year on year
- Whether an area has gone quiet
It cannot show
- A single villa, its floors or its finish: one pixel is 10 m by 10 m
- Who owns or builds on a plot, or whether it has a permit
- Work inside a building, or anything under a roof
- Change that happened between two periods and was then covered again
Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data, processed by Kolaboro. Source: Copernicus Sentinel-2. The "Last 120 days" window is the most recent picture and falls outside the yearly months, so it is shown without a change layer. Activity is the pipeline's label for how much the land in an area has been changing lately.

Want this for the plot you are buying?
When you hire Kolaboro to check a project, we pin its plot and compare it with every new cloud-free image. If the ground has not moved while the payment requests keep coming, your agent tells you. That watch stays private between you and your agent.
